Pilgerfahrt ins Bachland

Thuringia – 13.-15. September 2019

Pilgrimage to Bach's countryIn Thuringia we encounter Bach at every turn. It is, as it were, "Bach country". When Johann Sebastian Bach was born in Eisenach in 1685 his family had already exerted a considerable influence on Thuringian musical life for 150 years. And it was here that he spent the first thirty years of his own musical career before it took him further to Köthen and finally to Leipzig. Im autumn 2019 the International Bach Academy Stuttgart sets out on a "pilgrimage to Bach’s country, with the Gaechinger Cantorey, conducted by Akademie Director Hans-Christoph Rademann, and with outstanding soloists: in the historic Bach locations of Eisenach, Dornheim, Weimar and Arnstadt.
