Music outreach

BachBewegt!

With BachBewegt! (Bach moves) the Bachakademie has established a theme for the future. We started in 2013 with a dance project which introduced young people to the music of Bach: 100 Stuttgart schoolchildren danced to music of Bach’s “Christmas Oratorio”. With the 2014/15 season we took the theme of BachBewegt! as the title for our entire children’s and youth programme.

BachBewegt! is above all about stimulating our own creative discoveries. We are looking for new ways of communicating music which can combine practice with theory, music-making with reflection, and experiencing with creating together. We want to search for new ways of experiencing music with young and old, small and tall under our heading of BachBewegt!, and we warmly invite you and yours to join in the thinking and participating!

Tanz!

As part of BachBewegt!Tanz!, students from secondary schools develop a choreography to a central work of classical music over the course of a school year. They empathize with the emotions of the music and feel that dance is more than mere movement.

Singen!

In the BachBewegt!Singen! project, over a period of several months, children work together with their teachers to create a composition especially for BachBewegt!Singen! They are supported by a team from the Bachakademie. The project culminates in large family concerts with the Gaechinger Cantorey.

Begegnung!

Encountering music directly, meeting great musicians directly and personally, sharing a concert experience with classmates or friends - the Bachakademie opens its doors wide to students and invites classes with their teachers to all of its concerts.
